Manchester United announced the signing of Swedish defender Julia Zigiotti Olme from German club Bayern Munich on a two-year contract with the possibility of extension for another year. The 27-year-old footballer was a key player for the Swedish national team at Euro 2025, where the team reached the quarter-finals, defeating England.

Zigiotti Olme spent the previous two seasons at Brighton, after which she transferred to Bayern, with which she won the Bundesliga and the German Cup last season. She emphasized that she is looking forward to Manchester United, noting that the team matches her playing style.

The signing of Zigiotti Olme significantly strengthens the team's midfield and also opens up new tactical possibilities for coach Marc Skinner.
