- The new launch was scheduled for Friday, but with worsening conditions.
- The crew will spend six months on the ISS, replacing colleagues.
KEYP-KANAVERA, Florida — Severe storms forced SpaceX to postpone the planned launch of four astronauts to the International Space Station for NASA, which was supposed to take place on Thursday. The launch was halted at the countdown mark of one minute and seven seconds.
The next launch attempt from the Kennedy Space Center is scheduled for Friday, although weather forecasts appear to be less favorable.
The crew, which includes astronauts from the USA, Japan, and Russia, will spend six months at the station, replacing colleagues who were launched in early January as part of two astronauts from NASA who remained on Earth.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, who is temporarily acting as NASA's administrator, was present for the launch attempt at the Kennedy Space Center. The morning started with ideal weather, but the wind picked up, and clouds covered the sky.
