On July 31, 2025, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian units continue to defend their positions in Chasiv Yar, clarifying the information about the capture of the city by Russian troops. According to the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces are holding the front line in the direction of Pokrovsk.

Zelensky noted that accusations from Russia about the capture of Chasiv Yar are disinformation. "This is just a regular baseless fake. Our units are repelling all attempts by Russian troops to advance in Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions," he said during the evening broadcast.

He also emphasized the importance of eliminating Russian reconnaissance-diversionary groups that are trying to infiltrate the city. "This is a Russian tactic, and our response to this is the elimination of the occupiers," added Zelensky.

Earlier, the representative of the Operational-Strategic Group of Forces "Khortytsia" Viktor Trehubov confirmed the information about the capture of Chasiv Yar, stating that the city remains under the control of Ukrainian forces. According to Trehubov, the situation in Chasiv Yar remains the same as in the previous month, and Russian troops do not control the city.

On the DeepState map, it is confirmed that the southern part of Chasiv Yar is not controlled by the Russians. Meanwhile, Russian forces continue to attempt advances in various directions, while Ukrainian troops actively repel their attacks.
