Construction of a new ballroom begins at the White House

Washington — The White House announced the start of construction of a new ballroom valued at 200 million dollars, which will commence in the spring of 2025. The hall, covering 90,000 square feet, will accommodate 650 people, significantly exceeding the capacity of the existing hall for receptions.
Press Secretary of the White House Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the new hall will become a necessary addition for holding state events and other gatherings. After the construction is completed, the eastern wing of the White House will be significantly altered, and the offices currently located there will be temporarily relocated.
The hall will be built on the site of the existing eastern wing, which was constructed in 1902. Jean-Pierre emphasized that the new hall will be architecturally similar to the main building, preserving its historical style.
Funding for the project will be provided by President Trump and undisclosed private donors. This project is part of the overall administration's vision for the White House, including changes to the Kennedy Rose Garden.
