- Andrew McGann was arrested while getting a haircut at a salon.
- The homicide occurred during a stroll with his girlfriend in the park.
- The children of the victims were not harmed and are safe.
On July 31, 2025, in Arkansas, 28-year-old Andrew James McGann was arrested, suspected in the homicide of a couple during a stroll with their young children in Devil's Den Park. The arrest took place at the hair salon "Lupita's Beauty Salon" in the city of Springdale, where McGann was getting a haircut.
McGann is accused of the homicide of Clinton David Brinks, 43, and his friend Kristen Amanda Brinks, 41, who were killed on Saturday during a stroll on a secluded trail in the park. The couple's children, aged 7 and 9, were unharmed and are safe with relatives.
The Arkansas police reported that the victims were likely victims of a random attack, as there is no evidence linking the suspect to the deceased. McGann, who had recently moved from Oklahoma, had planned to start working in the public schools of Springdale, but had not yet taken office.
The arrest occurred after the police released a sketch and video of the suspect, who was seen driving a black sedan. During the arrest, McGann appeared agitated and did not respond to the barber.
It is currently unknown whether McGann has an attorney, and the investigation continues.
