Kris Voks may miss the test match due to shoulder injury
- Kris Voks sustained a shoulder injury during the fifth test
- England may lose a key player due to the injury
- The question of replacing injured players is once again relevant
Kris Voks may not participate in the decision of the fifth test against India due to the shoulder injury he sustained on the first day of the match.
Voks, who is the only English player to have played in all matches of the series, sustained the injury while attempting to stop the ball on the boundary. He fell and was forced to leave the field with a severe pain in his shoulder.
Doctors conducted an examination, and Voks remained on the field while India concluded the first day with a score of 204-6. The assessment of the player's condition will be provided on Friday following a thorough examination.
If Voks is unable to continue playing, it will create serious problems for a team that already has issues with other injured players, including captain Ben Stokes.
Gus Atkinson, who was the best of the team's bowlers, expressed concern that the injury is not serious, but acknowledged that the situation does not look very optimistic.
In the absence of Voks, Atkinson will become the oldest player in the team, despite the fact that this is only his 13th game at the international level.
Voks' injury has also raised the question of the possibility of replacing injured players in the test cricket. Currently, the ICC does not allow replacements, but some experts believe that this issue is worth discussing, especially in situations where players cannot continue playing.
