It is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Ukrinform, Meduza.

The President of the USA Donald Trump announced the intention to impose sanctions against Russia, which will not be lifted until September 8 if an agreement is not reached regarding the end of the war in Ukraine. Trump stated this during a briefing at the White House.

Details: Trump critically assessed the actions of the Kremlin, including a large-scale strike by Russia on Kyiv on the night of July 30 to 31. He noted that it is unclear whether sanctions will affect the conversation of President Vladimir Putin, although the USA still intends to impose them.

Trump also announced that his special envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Russia after a meeting with Israeli officials. Witkoff had previously visited Russia in the spring, but earlier negotiations did not lead to significant breakthroughs in peace processes.

Note: Earlier, Trump stated that the USA could start imposing tariffs and other measures against Russia if Moscow does not show progress in peace negotiations. In response to this statement, Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, warned the USA about war.
