The studio Amazon MGM obtained control of the franchise in the summer of 2025 and is actively working on bringing Bond back to the big screen after a lengthy hiatus. The last Bond film was released in 2021 under the title "No Time to Die."

Steven Knight, known for his work on "Peaky Blinders," expressed enthusiasm about the new project, stating that this has always been on his wish list. He hopes that his experience as a Bond fan will help create something unique.
