The Wrexham club confirmed the signing of defender Connor Cody from Leicester. The two clubs agreed on a transfer fee that is close to 2 million pounds sterling. The 32-year-old English footballer successfully underwent medical examinations on Friday.

This transfer is an important step for Wrexham, which is preparing for its first season in the Championship after 43 years. Previously, the club had already set a transfer record by signing left-back Liberal Kachache and forward Lewis O'Brien. The club is also negotiating for the signing of forward Nathan Broadhead for 7.5 million pounds and hopes to finalize a deal with Kiefer Moore from Sheffield United.

Cody has played 198 matches in the Premier League and was the captain of Wolverhampton, where the team finished in seventh place and reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League. He also has 10 caps for the England national team and was part of the squad for Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.
