Supplies that are stored in a warehouse, funded by the USA in Ghent, Belgium, include contraceptive pills, implants, and intrauterine devices (IUDs). They could help women in conflict zones avoid unwanted pregnancies.

Tommy Pigott, a representative of the US Department of State, confirmed that the administration has not yet made a decision regarding the further distribution of these supplies. Belgium is negotiating with American diplomats to prevent the destruction of the supplies.

These contraceptives, valued at nearly $9 million, were supposed to be used for women in conflict zones and refugees. US senators have called on the administration to allow other countries or partners to distribute these supplies to prevent their destruction.
