The Bristol Autodrome in Tennessee will host the first Major League Baseball game in history. This event, taking place on September 9, 2025, will be part of the MLB Speedway Classic, featuring teams Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds.
The game, with tickets already divided into 85,000 seats, will start at 7:15 PM Eastern Time, and the broadcast will be available on Fox. It is expected that during the game, the MLB attendance record, set in 1954, will be broken.
To transform the autodrome into a baseball stadium, over 18,000 tons of grass and 340 tons of clay were used. A total of 415 additional lights were installed to improve lighting. Specifically for the game, synthetic turf will be used, which is also used by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Famous personalities will also perform at the game, including Chipper Jones, who will throw the first pitch, and Tim McGraw, who will perform a concert before the game. This will be an important step for MLB in expanding its geographic footprint, as no MLB games have previously been held in Tennessee.
After the match concludes, all field elements will be dismantled, and the structures will be handed over to East Tennessee State University.
