- Since the beginning of the year, over one million FPV drones have been delivered.
- New approaches to drone supply have been implemented.
- A digital platform has been created to select the necessary drones.
This is reported by RBC Ukraine, Ukrinform.
Starting in 2025, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will supply over one million FPV drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Facebook.
To ensure the fast and sufficient supply of drones in the future, the ministry is implementing new approaches. In particular, under the framework agreements based on tactical-technical characteristics, manufacturers will be required not for specific models, but according to the drone specifications that meet these requirements.
This approach allows attracting a wide range of manufacturers in procurement, promotes competition, and ensures transparency through the electronic procurement system Prozorro.
In addition, the digital platform DOT-Chain Defence has been launched, which allows military units to independently select the necessary drones. This system is already operating in pilot mode for 12 combat brigades.
The minister emphasized the priority of developing effective mechanisms for supplying drones for frontline units. According to Shmyhal, the State Procurement Agency is working on accelerating the pace of supply so that each unit receives exactly what it needs to carry out combat tasks.
At the moment, the system operates with FPV drones, but in the future, it will encompass other types of drones, electronic warfare systems, and robotic complexes.
