Nintendo Raises Prices on Switch Due to Market Conditions
- Nintendo raises prices on Switch due to market conditions.
- Prices for games remain unchanged, but possible future adjustments may occur.
- The price of Switch 2 is currently not changing, regardless of the new tariffs.
Nintendo announced a price increase for a number of Switch console models, including the base version, Lite, and OLED. The changes will take effect from September 3, 2025. The company noted that this decision is related to "market conditions."
According to the new prices, the original Nintendo Switch will cost $299.99, Switch Lite – $199.99, and Switch OLED – $349.99. In addition, the price increase will also affect some accessories for Switch 2, as well as some amiibo and the new Nintendo building blocks.
At the same time, prices for physical and digital games for Switch 1 and 2 will remain unchanged. Nintendo indicated that additional price adjustments for various products might occur in the future.
The reasons for the price increase include inflation in the global economy and changes in tariff policies that affect manufacturing costs. Nintendo plans to implement a price increase for the new Switch 2 console, which already has high demand, selling 6 million units in two months.
