Mike Parsons and the Cowboys Still Have No Agreement Regarding the Contract
- Mike Parsons is considering the possibility of a trade with the Cowboys.
- The team is not conducting negotiations with Parsons' agent.
- Parsons is attending training, but is not participating in physical drills.
Relations between Mike Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys have deteriorated, as the star defender is considering the possibility of radical measures, including a trade request or public termination of relations with the team. Jerry reports that both sides have significantly diverged in negotiations regarding the contract, and at this moment there are no active negotiations.
Parsons, who is currently in the final year of his rookie contract, attends Cowboys training but does not participate in physical drills. It is known that he is one of the best defenders in the NFL and has a contract that exceeds $40 million per year.
The problem lies in the fact that the team believes it has reached an agreement with Parsons earlier, but when his agent sought to introduce changes, the Cowboys decided to cease negotiations, indicating that Parsons must fulfill the previous agreement. Currently, the team does not want to even consider collaborating with Parsons' agent, which creates a tense situation.
At the same time, Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones stated that the situation is not critical, and that Parsons is still present at the training sessions, although his appearances on the field remain in question. Parsons expressed a desire to remain with the team, but noted that if they do not want to see him, he will seek new opportunities.
Time for reaching an agreement is running out, and with the start of the regular season, it becomes increasingly clear that the Cowboys need to find a solution, otherwise they could lose one of their most valuable players from their team.
