36-year-old zoo worker Uriel Nuri was killed after the tiger escaped from its enclosure during preparations for a tour for visitors. The incident occurred in the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo on Friday morning.

According to the zoo's report, the tiger broke into the internal courtyard where Nuri was working. He was transported to the trauma unit of Hadassah Hospital, but after three attempts to resuscitate him, the doctors announced his death.

The zoo is cooperating with the Israeli police to investigate the reasons for the tiger's escape. For now, the zoo is closed to visitors, but zoo representatives stated that at the time of the attack, visitors were not in danger, as they were behind a glass barrier.

Nuri was the leader of the hyena team and regularly shared videos about his work on Instagram. The zoo, located on 62 acres, specializes in animals mentioned in the Bible, as well as endangered species.

At the moment, a check of the technical condition of the enclosures is ongoing, including the doors through which the tiger could escape.
