French cyclist Maëva Scuban achieved victory in the seventh stage of the Tour de France Femmes, showcasing impressive tactics and strength. On this day, the cyclist executed a successful attack on the climb to Col du Granier, finishing the stage with a time of 3 hours 58 minutes 26 seconds.
Scuban became the first Frenchwoman to win two stages in a row in this tour, after her victory in the sixth stage. Her team, UAE Team ADQ, remained with three cyclists, as four participants withdrew from the race.
At the finish, Scuban outpaced her compatriot Sédrine Kerbo by 51 seconds, while third place was taken by Ruth Edwards. The overall leader, Kim Le Cour, managed to retain the yellow jersey, despite the difficulties on the climb. She finished sixth, but limited her losses and remains in contention for first place.
In the overall standings after the seventh stage, Kim Le Cour has a 26-second lead over Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, while the defending champion, Katarzyna Niewiadoma, trails by 30 seconds. The next day, cyclists will face a challenging 111.9 km mountainous route between Chambéry and Saint-François-Longchamp, which could significantly impact the results.
