Rukh and SK Poltava have started the UPL Championship 2025/26

• SK Poltava debuted in the UPL against Rukh

On September 1, 2025, the first round of the Ukrainian Premier League season 2025/26 took place, in which Lviv's Rukh met SK Poltava. This game became historic for the Poltava team, which debuted in the elite division.

The match took place at the "Rukh" stadium in Lviv. The game started with a goal from the guests, when in the 11th minute Yevhen Misiura scored into his own net, giving Poltava the lead. However, later Rukh managed to equalize the score thanks to a penalty, which was converted by Maksym Marusych in the 17th minute.

In the second half, in the 86th minute, Roman scored the winning goal, finishing the match with a score of 2:1 in favor of Rukh. In this game, there was also a sending-off of Rukh player Sviatoslav Shapovalov, who received a red card in the 70th minute.

Thus, Rukh earned their first three points in the new season, while SK Poltava, unfortunately, remained without any points.

This game also began with significant interest, as both teams had new coaches and starting conditions.
