U.S. President Donald Trump stated that according to U.S. data, Russia has lost over 112,500 military personnel in the war with Ukraine since the beginning of the year. He reported that nearly 20,000 Russian soldiers were killed just in July, referring to the war as "ridiculous."

Trump noted that Ukraine also sustained significant losses, including nearly 8,000 soldiers since January 1, 2025, without accounting for missing persons. He emphasized that civilian casualties in Ukraine are fewer, but still significant due to Russian missile strikes.

This is the first time Trump has publicly mentioned figures regarding casualties on both sides in the conflict. Previously, he only indicated that approximately 5,000 soldiers are lost daily from both sides.

According to Trump, this war should not have happened, and he expressed a desire to facilitate its conclusion. However, the data he cited did not specify whether it included only the dead or also the wounded.
