The first sportswoman has signed with Enhanced Games for 2026

  • Enhanced Games will hold competitions without doping testing.
  • Megan Romano has become the first female sportswoman in the project.
  • The prize fund for the winners amounts to 500 thousand dollars.

The sports project Enhanced Games, scheduled for the summer of 2026 in Las Vegas, has signed the world champion in swimming Megan Romano as its first female sportswoman and the first American woman. These competitions will take place without doping testing and will include swimming, athletics, and weightlifting.

Romano stated that participating in these games is an opportunity to expand the boundaries of human capabilities in a transparent and scientifically equipped environment, and also to compete on a stage where female sportswomen are evaluated and receive fair compensation. She believes that this is the "future of sports."

Enhanced Games will promote a prize fund of 500 thousand dollars for each event, as well as million-dollar bonuses for those who break world records in distances of 100 meters (athletics) and 50 meters (swimming). However, these achievements will not be considered "official" since world records must be approved by international federations that require doping test results.

The international Olympic committee has endorsed the concept of Enhanced Games, stating that it destroys the notion of fairness in sports. Nonetheless, the project has received support and raised funding in "double-digit millions," according to the founder Aran D'Souza.

Four male swimmers, including Olympic medalist James Magnussen from Australia, have also confirmed their participation in the competitions. Romano, who was a competitive swimmer during her studies at the University of Georgia, won a gold medal at the world championships in 2013 in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay.
