On the second day of the match, numerous tense moments occurred, starting with the super over regarding time delays at the London stadium Lord's. India ended the second inning with a lead of 52 runs, while England suffered 15 dismissals throughout the day.

Joe Root, who is usually calm on the field, reacted to the commentary of Chairman Krishna quite emotionally, noting that the umpires were forced to draw attention to the behavior of the Indian team. Traskotyk noted that such a reaction from Root was difficult to explain, as he usually remains calm.

Chairman Krishna confirmed that their tactic was aimed at dismissing England's best batsman, although he did not expect such a strong reaction from Root. Meanwhile, former England captain Sir Alastair Cook expressed the opinion that India's tactic, aimed at dismissing Root, could be effective, although his statistics against India are quite impressive.
