On Friday morning on highway 83 in Pensylvania, there was an accident, as a result of which a load of hot dogs overturned, closing the roadway. The incident occurred on the 83 highway, not far from the Maryland border, during the early morning hours.
According to police, the accident was caused by a mechanical problem, which caused the vehicle to overturn onto its side. When the load shifted on the concrete overpass, its strap broke, and the contents spilled onto the roadway.
Four people sustained injuries that are not life-threatening, and required medical assistance, reported the chief of the fire service, Shryusberia Brad Dauberman.
To clean up the spilled hot dogs, a front-end loader was used to scoop them up. Dauberman noted that the situation evoked a certain sense of humor among the rescuers, and his daughter sent him a photo of a t-shirt with a hot dog theme.
"I can say personally, hot dogs are very slippery," said the fire chief.
