The Report on Humanitarian Centers in Gaza Reveals Horrific Conditions
- The special envoy of the USA has visited the humanitarian center in Gaza.
- Human Rights Watch accuses Israel of war crimes.
- The situation with hunger in Gaza is worsening, with hundreds of people having died.
DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip — The special envoy of the USA to the Middle East, Steve Vitkoff, visited the humanitarian center in Gaza, which operates with the support of the USA and Israel. This took place against the backdrop of the escalating humanitarian crisis, which has been exacerbated by over 22 months of military actions by Israel against Hamas.
According to information from international experts, Gaza is experiencing a "worst-case scenario of famine." As of September 1, 2025, as a result of military actions, over 60,000 Palestinians have died, and humanitarian organizations, such as Human Rights Watch, accuse Israel of war crimes, pointing to killings during the distribution of humanitarian aid.
The humanitarian centers, which opened in April, have become sites of mass tragedies, where people trying to obtain aid are met with obstacles. According to data from the Ministry of Health of Gaza, at least 159 individuals have died from hunger and neglect since the start of the conflict.
Vitkoff noted that his goal was to obtain a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation to help develop a plan for the delivery of humanitarian and medical assistance. Meanwhile, critics point out that the system of distributing aid is inadequate and leads to discrimination.
Recently, Israel stated that its military only targets those who are directly involved in their positions. However, evidence from witnesses and human rights activists suggests otherwise.
Representatives of international organizations are calling on Israel to improve the humanitarian situation in the region, including lifting restrictions on the delivery of aid.
