People in Gaza Struggle for Survival During the Famine
- The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues due to the famine.
- Families face difficulties every day in finding food for their children.
- UN experts confirm that a famine scenario is unfolding in Gaza.
Gaza, 2025 — The situation with food supply in Gaza is becoming critical. The war has already lasted for 22 months, and families, such as the Sobkh family, are facing enormous difficulties in finding food for their children. Abir and Fadi Sobkh, who live in a camp for refugees, face the daily question: how to find food for their six children?
The situation is worsening due to the limited humanitarian aid and the blockade imposed by Israel. Although aid was supposed to resume in June, its supply does not meet the needs of the population. Experts warn that "the worst famine scenario" is already unfolding in Gaza.
According to UN data, since the beginning of the war, over 60,000 people have died, but the real number is likely much higher. People in Gaza are forced to search for food, sometimes resorting to collecting leftovers from dumpsters.
Many people, such as Jamal Mugari, report significant weight loss among their children. He states that his children have lost more than half of their body weight, and he himself feels a severe hunger due to lack of food.
In the face of the growing famine, the situation with food distribution is becoming precarious. People are hoarding around food distribution points, and often become victims of violence, trying to obtain aid. Distribution points operate only a few hours a day, producing a trickle of food and supplies.
Families do not receive enough aid, and many are turning to neighbors for help. In some cases, they are able to obtain scraps of bread or juice, but this is not the norm.
The situation is becoming increasingly critical, and residents of Gaza are closing themselves off from the world, claiming that "we are slowly starving to death." They are hoping for international reaction and aid to alleviate the edge of this humanitarian catastrophe.
