Successfully destroyed 45 of 53 Russian drones last night

• During the night from August 1 to August 2, 45 drones out of 53 launched were destroyed.

On the night from August 1 to August 2, Ukrainian anti-aircraft forces destroyed 45 of the 53 drones launched by Russian troops. This information was provided by the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since the evening of August 1, Russia launched 53 drones, including 45 Shahed-type drones and various other loitering munitions. The launch occurred in several directions: Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk in Russia, and Khvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea. Also, from the Bryansk region, all high-altitude drones were launched.

The attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned aerial systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukrainian forces. As of 09:00 on August 2, preliminary data confirmed that 45 drones were destroyed, including all reactive drones and 37 Shahed-type drones and loitering munitions.

All drones were intercepted in five locations, while the downed drones fell in two additional locations.

It is noteworthy that on August 1, Russian forces also carried out a series of strikes with drones and artillery in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as a result of which several civilians were injured, and damage was caused to residential and infrastructure facilities.
