Germany announced its intention to supply additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. This move comes against the backdrop of new threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On September 1, 2025, Germany confirmed that it would transfer two Patriot systems to Ukraine to enhance its air defense. The German federal forces (Bundeswehr) plan to deliver launch systems in the coming days, with additional components in the next two to three months.
The Bundeswehr's statement emphasizes that this process is the result of close coordination with the USA and NATO allies, which was initiated on July 14, 2025.
At the same time, Vladimir Putin made a series of statements regarding peace, asserting that Russia is ready for negotiations with Ukraine, but the Kremlin's demands remain unspecified. He noted that he is willing to wait if the Ukrainian leadership believes that now is not the time for negotiations.
In response to the escalating conflict, US President Donald Trump announced the deployment of two nuclear submarines near Russia. This decision was a reaction to threats from former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who made "provocative" statements.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones have struck a series of targets in Russia, causing explosions in several regions. In response to this, Russia carried out attacking actions against Ukraine, utilizing 53 drones, of which 45 were shot down by Ukrainian aviation.
