  • The USA will introduce new sanctions against Russia due to the absence of agreement.

This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Ukrinform.

President of the USA Donald Trump stated that he repeatedly believes that after "good talks" with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, an agreement was reached on a ceasefire in Ukraine. However, immediately after this, Russia resumed shelling Ukrainian cities.

In an interview, Trump noted that despite positive dialogues, the situation on the front has not changed. He stressed that after the conversation with Putin, which, in his opinion, was constructive, he is aware of new explosions in Kyiv and other cities.

Trump also confirmed that the USA will impose sanctions against Russia, which it will withdraw from the agreement on a ceasefire. He indicated that Putin knows well how to avoid sanctions.

Additionally, Trump mentioned that earlier he shortened the term of the ultimatum to Russia by ten days, stating that in the absence of an agreement, the USA will introduce tariffs and other restrictions.

At the same time, the US ambassador to NATO, Mettyu Uitaker, stated that the USA may be able to compel Russia to negotiations if it does not agree to a ceasefire. He pointed out that new sanctions could significantly affect Russia's ability to finance the war.

Uitaker also noted that countries that continue to trade with Russia may face serious consequences.
