The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has adopted a decision to reallocate 9 billion hryvnias to ensure the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on September 2, 2025, in his publication on Telegram.
In particular, 8 billion hryvnias will be directed towards the urgent needs of military units that participate in the Drone Line project, as well as for the acquisition of unmanned systems in newly formed units. According to Shmyhal, this funding will ensure the urgent support of key units, such as the Ptakha Madyara, K2, Rarog, Akhilles, Nemesida, and Chornyi Lis.
Another 1 billion hryvnias will be allocated for the protection against drones on evacuation routes and logistics.
"We are also working with international partners to ensure the funding of the Drone Line project. Within the framework of a bilateral agreement with the Netherlands, there are plans to purchase drones from Ukrainian manufacturers. Through this mechanism, the state Oschadbank has already issued bank guarantees for a total of 837 million euros for the corresponding contracts," the minister added.
From the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Defense has already received over one million FPV drones for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
