On September 1, 2025, a match of the first round of the Ukrainian Premier League took place, in which Kryvbas lost to Kolos with a score of 1:2. The head coach of Kryvbas, Patrick van Leuven, commented on the results of the game, noting that his team failed to start the first half properly.

Van Leuven emphasized that Kryvbas had several moments to score, but did not manage to convert them. "Unfortunately, we missed goals in crucial moments, and this affected the course of the game," said the coach. He also noted that the team needs additional time to adjust and improve their game.

"I believe that we somewhat entered the game. We wanted to start the season more aggressively," added van Leuven.

The head coach of Kolos, Ruslan Kostyshin, also commented on the match, starting by stating that his team showed good play, but recognized that they encountered difficulties in realizing moments. Kostyshin pointed out the importance of supporting the legionnaires of the team, who have experienced difficult times in Ukraine.

"Our legionnaires personally witnessed all the horror and death around them. This affected their motivation," noted Kostyshin.

Both coaches emphasized that the match was an important step for both teams in the new season. Kryvbas is currently in 15th place in the table, and the next match will take place on September 9 against Kharkiv's Metalist 1925.
