Man Charged with Indecent Assault on Children in Leicestershire

In Leicestershire, a 76-year-old man has been charged with indecent assault on children following an incident at a summer camp where three children were allegedly abused. John Rubens, a resident of Ruddington, appeared in Leicester Magistrates' Court on September 2, where he was charged with three counts of indecent assault on children.

The incident took place between July 25 and July 29 at the camp located at Stathern Lodge. According to police information, the victims, aged between 8 and 11 years, began to feel uncomfortable after being subjected to inappropriate behavior, possibly involving sexual acts.

All the children and one adult were accommodated, but they were later released. Rubens was arrested on July 29 in a pub nearby and is charged with indecent assault on children with intent.

The court is hearing the case, and Rubens only confirmed his name, date of birth, and address. The next hearing will take place on September 29 at the Crown Court in Leicester.

Leicestershire police reported that the owners of Stathern Lodge were not connected to the incident. An independent organization began an investigation through supererogatory witness statements provided by police regarding the date of the incident.
