Explosion Kills Chechen Fighters in Melitopol
- The explosion of a minibus with Chechen fighters occurred on August 2.
- All five passengers were killed, while two others sustained injuries.
- The mobile electronic system of radio interception was destroyed.
This was reported by RBC Ukraine, Interfax Ukraine.
On August 2, a successful operation was carried out by the Ukrainian intelligence and partisans in the temporarily occupied Melitopol. The explosion targeted a minibus in which fighters of the occupation unit Akhmat were present.
As a result of the explosion, all five passengers were killed. Additionally, two occupiers who were in a nearby vehicle sustained injuries. Furthermore, the explosion destroyed the mobile electronic system of radio interception.
Shelling of Melitopol
Earlier in Melitopol, a large fire broke out at the Hidramaş factory. Witnesses reported a thick smoke that rose above the city, visible from various districts. It is known that Russian troops had established a base of artillery at this factory at the beginning of 2023.
In July, Ukrainian forces also successfully established a base of occupiers in Melitopol, resulting in the deaths of five saboteurs, and a key command point of the Russians was also destroyed.
