President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the absolute world champion in boxing Oleksandr Usyk to discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine's position on the international arena, especially in the United States.
In his post on social media, Zelensky noted the importance of having Ukraine's voice be strong and influential in the world, so that more people learn about Ukraine's struggle for life.
"It is possible that when politicians and diplomats unite on the international arena, they are supported by Ukrainian legends, known in every corner of the planet. One of them is our absolute world champion, Oleksandr Usyk. During our meeting, we talked about how to strengthen our positions, especially in the USA; how to ensure that the world does not forget about the evil of Russia; how to remind everyone about the daily atrocities that Ukrainians face, and about the resilience they demonstrate more than 1,256 days of war," said Zelensky.
Additionally, they discussed the popularization of healthy lifestyles among the youth, as well as the support and motivation for children who actively engage in sports.
It is noteworthy that on July 19, Oleksandr Usyk, holder of the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO titles, defeated IBF champion Daniel Dubois in a rematch.
