Zharnel Hughes and Amy Hunt Win Titles at the Great Britain Championships

At the Great Britain Championships in athletics, which took place on August 2-3 at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, Zharnel Hughes secured the title of champion in the 100 meters, clocking a time of 9.94 seconds. He dedicated this victory to his late grandfather, whose passing he felt deeply.
In the women's 100 meters, Amy Hunt won with a personal best record of 11.02 seconds. Her rival Daryll Neita was disqualified for a false start, opening the door for Hunt to take the title. In both finals, the participants had to secure the top two places and achieve the qualifying standard to compete in the world championships, which will take place in September in Tokyo.
Molly Caudery also won the title in the high jump, clearing a height of 4.85 meters. She continues to lead in the world rankings this year. In the men’s shot put, Anna Purchase set a championship record, sending the shot put to 72.96 meters, while Lawrence Okoye won the men’s discus with a result of 65.93 meters.
