The owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, does not view Micah Parsons' request for a trade as serious and indicated that it will not affect the team. At the training camp on Saturday, September 2, 2025, Jones stated: "We are in good shape. This is just a negotiation."
The situation surrounding Parsons' contract has become tense, and he released a statement in which he expressed his dissatisfaction with the ongoing negotiations and the lack of proposals from the team. Parsons noted that the Cowboys are refusing to cooperate with his agent. According to him, he earns only $7.29 million over four years, which does not reflect his productivity on the field, as he has earned 52.5 sacks over four seasons.
Trainer Brian Schottenheimer expressed hope that Parsons will appear on the field in the first week of the season when the team plays against the Philadelphia Eagles. He noted that the situation should not be a distracting factor for the team.
Meanwhile, some teammates, including wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, have supported Parsons, suggesting that the team should "pay him what he deserves." Teammates have also expressed their support by holding up signs with demands to the management.
So far, Parsons has participated in training sessions but not in active drills. Jones clarified that this is part of the business, where all major teams and players are negotiating. What happens next will depend on the decisions made by the Cowboys' management.
