Canadian tennis player Victoria Mboko defeats Koko Gauff

Montreal — Canadian tennis player Victoria Mboko, who ranks 85th in the world, achieved victory over the first seed Koko Gauff with a score of 6-1, 6-4 in the quarterfinal match of the National Bank Open on Saturday evening.
Since her victory at the Open in France, Gauff has a record of 2-3. She struggled at the start of the tournaments in Berlin and Wimbledon, but despite issues with her serve, she secured victories in two three-set matches in Montreal. In the match against Mboko, she made five double faults, after 23 in her first match against Danielle Collins and 14 against Veronika Kudermetova.
Victoria Mboko is now looking forward to the semifinal match between Lin Zhu from China and Hessika Buzarnescu from Spain.
Earlier, Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, ranked 24th, and ninth seed Elena Ryabkina from Kazakhstan secured their spots in the quarterfinals. Kostyuk defeated Marketa Vondrousova from the USA with a score of 5-7, 6-3, 6-3, while Ryabkina eliminated Dayana Yastremska from Ukraine with a score of 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.
