Trump Accuses Banks of Discrimination and Plans Action

  • Trump accuses banks of discrimination against conservatives.
  • The president supports initiatives regarding bank audits.
  • Banks deny the accusations of political discrimination.

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed confidence that banks, including JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, discriminate against him and his affiliates. This became the basis for his new initiatives against banks that deny services to clients for political reasons.

Trump stated that he prepared an order that obliges regulators to audit banks for the issue of "politically motivated or illegal debanking." He also noted that after his first term, JPMorgan refused to accept his deposits, regardless of the fact that he had significant financial assets there.

In his statements, Trump emphasized that banks not only refuse him but also many conservative clients. He indicated that after JPMorgan's refusal, he tried to transfer his money to Bank of America, but also received a refusal. As a result, he had to turn to smaller banks.

Banks, in turn, denied Trump's accusations. JPMorgan stated that it does not close accounts for political reasons. Bank of America also did not comment on Trump's specific statements but emphasized that it supports the administration's initiatives to improve regulatory standards.

Trump asserts that the refusal of banks to accept his deposits is a consequence of the Biden administration's policy, which, according to him, encourages regulators to discriminate.

According to data, over the past three years, more than 8000 complaints have been filed regarding the closure of bank accounts, of which more than 4000 were related to refusals from open accounts.

Trump emphasized that his campaign against banks is part of a broader fight for the rights of conservatives in the financial sphere.
