Criticism of Prince Harry and Others Regarding Sentebale

The British charity organization Sentebale, founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, has come under criticism from the Charity Commission of England and Wales. In a statement, the organization noted that both sides of the conflict, which occurred in the public domain, have harmed the reputation of the charity.

The conflict began after Prince Harry and Seeiso stepped down from their positions as patrons of the organization in early 2025. This happened against the backdrop of a super-issue regarding a new fundraising strategy that was supposed to be implemented in the USA. The main director, Dr. Sophie Chandauluka, accused Harry of systemic bullying in the organization and of causing harm to it.

The commission did not find evidence of systemic bullying or discrimination at Sentebale, but noted that public super-issues negatively impacted the organization's image. General director of the commission David Holdsworth emphasized that the organization's problems have become public, jeopardizing its ability to assist children from V.I.L. in Botswana and Lesotho.

In response to the statement, a representative of Harry stated that the commission's conclusions are unfounded and that the consequences of Chandauluka's actions will affect the children who need Sentebale's support. In turn, Chandauluka expressed satisfaction with the statement, noting that she reaffirms earlier raised issues regarding management problems.

It is worth noting that Sentebale was founded in 2006 in honor of the mothers of the princes, Princess Diana and Queen Mother Mamohato.
