Witkoff, who is making his fifth trip to Moscow since Trump took office, was met by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, at Vnukovo Airport. According to sources, he plans to hold negotiations with Russian leadership.
Trump previously stated that if an agreement on a ceasefire is not reached by August 8, new economic sanctions will be imposed, including sanctions on the purchase of Russian oil products, with India and China being the largest buyers.
