Russian drones attack Ukraine and damage gas infrastructure

On the night of September 6, Russia launched 45 drones against Ukraine from three directions: Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauty in occupied Crimea. Ukrainian air defense units intercepted most of the targets, but a certain number of them were also confirmed to have hit. This was reported by the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In particular, Ukrainian forces destroyed 36 drones of the Shahed type and various kamikaze drones. However, nine drones were confirmed to have hit three objects, and there were also instances of downed drones falling in one location.

Attacks on Ukraine

On September 6, Russian troops carried out at least four strikes on the recreation center in the Zaporizhzhia region. Preliminary data suggests that the Russian military used high-precision air bombs. As a result of the attack, two people were killed, and 12 were injured, among them four children.

That night, the Russian army attacked the Izmail district of the Odesa region. As a result of the attack on the gas infrastructure, a fire broke out, which was seen from Romania. According to the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, the fire destroyed production equipment, and due to the damage to the main gas pipeline, 2500 consumers were temporarily disconnected from gas.

The fire was managed to be extinguished at 07:25. Currently, work is ongoing to restore gas supply from the systems. All authorized services are working at the scene of the incident.
