Ukraine to receive military aid worth 1 billion dollars

The allied States of America have approved the sale to Ukraine of services for the repair and maintenance of the M777 howitzer for a total amount of 203.5 million dollars. This was reported by the U.S. State Department.

Details: The first contract for 104 million dollars includes the sale of military equipment, repair services, and maintenance of the M777 howitzer. The main contractor will be BAE Systems from the UK. The second contract for 99.5 million dollars covers transportation and logistics services.

Additionally, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands will allocate funds for the supply of American military equipment for Ukraine in the amount of over 1 billion dollars. In particular, the Netherlands announced financing for a package worth 500 million dollars, which includes elements of the Patriot missile system.

The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that this supply will allow Ukraine to protect critical infrastructure and civilian life, as well as support efforts to achieve a lasting peace agreement.

Context: In mid-July, the U.S. Senate approved the allocation of 500 million dollars for defense assistance to Ukraine as part of the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2026. This decision has become part of the U.S. support for Ukraine in the context of the ongoing armed conflict.
