During the women’s NBA match between the Fever and Sparks in Los Angeles, a sex toy was thrown onto the court near Indian player Sofía Kunein. The incident occurred with 2:05 left in the second quarter when the toy was thrown from the stands. Kunein, who had been actively expressing herself on social media about similar incidents, was surprised when the toy landed near her. Player Kelsey Plum picked up the toy and threw it back into the stands.

Last week, the first incident occurred in Atlanta during the match between Dream and Golden State, where a fan was banned for throwing an object from the stands, and he was warned with a yearly ban. On Friday in Chicago, yet another sex toy was thrown under the basket during a game stoppage, and the referee immediately removed it from the court.
The league emphasized that without a doubt, all participants of the matches are a priority, and throwing objects can pose a threat to players, referees, and fans. Any fan who throws an object onto the court will be immediately removed and may receive a yearly ban, as well as be subjected to arrest.
