The Continuation of Humanitarian Aid in Gaza Threatens Consequences
- More than 60 thousand Palestinians have died since the beginning of the conflict.
- Israel may expand military operations, which threatens the humanitarian situation.
- Recent incidents have caused a recorded increase among international organizations.
Recent incidents in Gaza have caused a recorded increase among international organizations due to the humanitarian crisis that is escalating. According to UN data, since the beginning of the conflict in July 2023, more than 60,000 Palestinians have died, and over 1,200 people have become victims of violence during attempts to obtain aid.
Assistant to the UN Secretary-General Miroslav Jenca stated during a meeting of the UN Security Council that further expansion of military operations by Israel in Gaza could lead to "catastrophic consequences" for millions of Palestinians. He called for immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all combatants and emphasized the need for humanitarian aid for civilians.
The Israeli leadership, under pressure from the international community, is considering the possibility of expanding its military operations in Gaza, which could worsen the situation and threaten the lives of those left in the Palestinian territories.
At the same time, Israeli ZMI reports about the plans of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the ongoing occupation of the Gaza sector, which will be coordinated with military leadership. As a result of this, according to experts, the situation may lead to even greater destruction among the Palestinian population.
Moreover, Jenca noted that humanitarian aid arriving in Gaza is insufficient, and the restrictions imposed by Israel further complicate access to essential resources.
