Sean "Diddy" Combs' lawyers appealed to Donald Trump's administration with a request for a pardon after his indictment for crimes related to prostitution. Attorney Nicole Westmoreland confirmed that their team reached out to Trump to discuss the possibility of a pardon.
In July, Combs was found guilty in two cases of transportation for participation in prostitution, for which he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years. However, he was exonerated of more serious charges in evidence regarding human trafficking and organized crime.
Trump, commenting on the situation, stated that he would like to talk about Combs, but he would not make any statements regarding the pardon until he is familiar with all the facts of the case. Attorney Westmoreland emphasized that Combs remains optimistic about his chances of receiving a pardon.
Combs, who became famous as a music mogul and founder of Bad Boy Records, was arrested in early 2024 following a civil lawsuit from former model Cassie Ventura, who accused him of abuse. Proceedings in the Combs case lasted eight weeks, during which prosecutors presented evidence related to his behavior.
The court hearing will take place on January 3 in Brooklyn, where Combs will remain under supervision until that time.
