Recently, new details emerged about Bryan Kohberger, who is linked to the murders of four students at the University of Idaho. In 2021, in the city of Pullman, Washington, he became the subject of an investigation due to an incident involving a masked intruder in a residence. This incident occurred less than a year before the murders, in which Kohberger was arrested on November 13, 2022.
According to police documents, a woman who became a witness of the incident reported that an unknown person in a mask attempted to enter her apartment. She fought off the intruder, after which he fled. The report does not indicate whether the arrested suspect was involved in this incident.
Kohberger, who studied criminology in the state of Washington, has not been charged in this incident, and it remains unclear whether he had any connection to it. However, police began investigating after his arrest in the murder case at the university.
According to investigators, Kohberger likely attempted to test his theories in real life, as he had posed the question of how to kill a person to his colleagues and acquaintances. During the murder in the students' apartment, he used a knife, and according to witness statements, he was dressed in a mask.
It is noted that during the attack he left behind his own knife sheath with his DNA, which became a determining factor in his arrest several weeks after the crime.
