Lithuania has appealed to NATO with a request for additional assistance in strengthening its air defense after Russian military drones repeatedly violated its airspace. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kestutis Navickas reported that the drone first violated the airspace of the country last Monday. This has already become another such incident in less than a month.
Navickas emphasized that he and the Minister of Defense Arvydas Anusauskas have requested NATO's Secretary General to take urgent measures to enhance the air policing system in Lithuania and to expedite the implementation of the rotational air defense model. According to him, air defense is critically important for the security of the alliance, and the protection of NATO's eastern flank remains a priority for the alliance.
Military Actions in Ukraine
According to data from the Ukrainian Military Intelligence, during the last few days, Russian troops have carried out numerous attacks on six populated areas in the Kharkiv region, resulting in the deaths of three people, and ten others were injured. In the Zaporizhzhia region, 431 airstrikes were recorded on 16 populated areas, which resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to three.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported on productive discussions with Donald Trump regarding the end of the war, sanctions against Russia, and the finalization of agreements on security guarantees. Zelensky also emphasized that Ukraine has offered Russia peace on the condition of ending rocket and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure.

Trump has announced a threat of new sanctions for countries that purchase Russian oil, especially for China and India. At the same time, Lithuania continues to call on NATO to strengthen its defense systems in light of increasing threats from Russia.
