Former Cricket Coach Suspended for Sexual Misconduct
- The coach was suspended for nine months for sexual misconduct.
- He admitted to five violations of professional standards.
- He is required to complete a training course on the awareness of the consequences.
The former cricket coach, whose name is not disclosed, received a nine-month suspension from the sport following the acknowledgment of his involvement in cases of sexual misconduct. An independent disciplinary committee for cricket made the decision on September 6, 2025, but declined to name the individual due to "exceptional" circumstances related to health, and "serious risk of harm," which will become known when his identity is revealed.
The coach admitted to five violations of professional standards, including sending inappropriate sexual images to two younger female colleagues during the summer seasons of 2023 and 2024. On one occasion, he attempted to touch one of the victims in a locker room.
As a result of his behavior, he was dismissed and has not worked in cricket since that time. The suspension consists of six months, which is counted from the moment of receiving the letter with the accusation, and also three months that were deferred. He is also required to complete a mandatory training course on education.
Chris Havaard, the managing director of cricket regulation, stated: "Such actions are unacceptable. When such incidents are revealed, they will be investigated, and those responsible will be punished. The removal of sexual misconduct from the game is a priority for the cricket regulator."
He emphasized that a lot of effort is needed to prevent offenders from returning to the game, and the regulator is obliged to quickly and thoroughly investigate all reported incidents.
