McDonald’s Improves Sales Thanks to Chicken Strips and Minecraft Menu
- McDonald’s revenues increased by 5% to $6.8 billion in the second quarter.
- The popularity of McCrispy strips and the Minecraft menu boosted sales.
- The company’s net income rose by 11% to $2.25 billion.
McDonald’s reported that its revenues increased by 5% to $6.8 billion in the second quarter of 2025. This surpassed analysts' forecasts, which expected $6.7 billion. Sales at restaurants open at least a year rose by nearly 4%, while analysts had predicted a decline of 1%.
This result contrasts with the first quarter, when sales fell due to reduced consumer spending. The popularity of new products, such as the menu tied to the "Minecraft Movie," which launched in 100 countries in April, contributed to the return of customers to the restaurants. Collectible figures sold out in less than two weeks.
In addition, the new McCrispy chicken strips, which were introduced to the menu in April, also boosted sales significantly. The company’s net income rose by 11% to $2.25 billion, while accounting for one-time expenses, McDonald’s earned $3.14 on the share, which exceeded market expectations.
