Tottenham Completes Tour in South Korea with Emotional Farewell
- Hyun Min Son held a farewell match for Tottenham in Seoul
- James Maddison sustained an injury during the last match
- Tottenham continues preparations for the new season without Son
The last day before the pre-season tour for Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong and South Korea was the most memorable. The captain of the team, Hyun Min Son, played his likely last match for the club in a draw 1:1 against Newcastle at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul. During the farewell match with the team, Son received a guard of honor from his teammates, which brought tears to his eyes.
Unfortunately, the pitch was a bit damp due to James Maddison's right ankle injury, which he sustained less than ten minutes into the game. Maddison left the stadium on crutches, as he had recently recovered from a similar injury.
The team under the guidance of new head coach Thomas Frank performed productively. The players played two friendly matches against Liga One teams, and then traveled to Hong Kong, where they encountered numerous fans.
Tottenham brought along their trophy from the European League, which they won in the spring. The trophy was displayed in the hotel where the team stayed. During their stay in Hong Kong, the team also trained under the roof of the Kai Tak stadium due to heavy rain.
Frank opened the training session in Seoul, which attracted nearly 8000 fans. The players, including Maddison and rookie Mohammed Kudus, worked on various tactical schemes.
At that time, the club was looking for a replacement for Hyun Min Son, who has left the team to join Los Angeles FC. This issue remains relevant due to injuries to other key players, such as Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
Despite the emotional farewell match, Tottenham continues to prepare for the new season, hoping for quality changes in the team under new management.
