Exhumation work in Poland to begin in the spring

In Ukraine, work continues on exhumation at the site of the former cemetery of Zboiska in Lviv. According to Andriy Nadzhdosa, deputy minister of culture and strategic communications, during the exhumation process, remains of up to 30 individuals may be discovered.

Experts believe that the work will last up to three weeks. The project involves nearly 10 Ukrainian specialists, as well as 20 Polish participants. After the completion of the investigation, the remains will be relocated to another location in the Lviv region.

On August 4, a joint Ukrainian-Polish expedition began searching for and exhuming the remains of soldiers of the Polish army.

In addition, Nadzhdosa reported that in Ukraine, it is planned to start exhumation work in Poland in the spring. Specifically, work will commence in the village of Yurechkov. The ministry plans to conduct a preparatory visit in mid-August, and the exhumations themselves will begin by the start of the rainy season.

Poland has allowed Ukraine to conduct exhumation work in 13 locations, while Ukraine has granted a similar permit to Poland for 4 locations.
