Sparks player Kelsey Plum quickly reacted, removing the toy from the court so the game could continue. Sparks coach Lynne Roberts expressed her outrage, stating that this is unsafe for the players and trivializes the game.
This incident marks the third such occurrence in a week. The first incident occurred on July 30 during a match between the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream, while the second happened on August 4 during Golden State's game against the Chicago Sky.
Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham, who expressed her dismay on social media, urged fans to stop such actions, emphasizing that this could lead to injuries.
