U.S. Open 2025 announces a record prize pool of 85 million
- The prize fund for the U.S. Open 2025 will reach 85 million dollars.
- Winners in the singles draw will receive 5 million each.
- Total payouts for players will increase by 20% to 90 million.
The U.S. Open tennis tournament in 2025 will become the richest in history, with a prize money pool reaching 85 million dollars. This is 13 percent more than in 2024, when the prize fund amounted to 70 million dollars. Along with the financial awards, these costs will account for over 15 percent of the total revenue of the tournament, which in 2024 was 559.7 million dollars.
Main payouts for singles winners will rise to 5 million dollars each, which is 39 percent more than in 2024. The prize for finalists will be 2.5 million dollars. The overall compensation for all participants in the tournament will increase by 20 percent to 90 million dollars.
These changes are being implemented against the backdrop of increasing players' shares in tournament revenues. Notable tennis players, such as Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff, are actively negotiating with organizers of major tournaments, including addressing the increasing share of revenues, which is currently considerably lower than in team sports events.
In light of the rising prize funds, USTA announced that a new mixed doubles tournament will take place on September 19-20, with a prize of 1 million dollars for the winners. Competitions in the singles draw will start on August 24, which is a new format for the tournament.
